How are you feeling today?  I hope to find you are well.  I am lucky to have somewhat good health and very lucky to have a family.  They are the reason why I am asking for help.  My father has helped people all his life.  I would consider him a very good person.  He is a drafter but, he is not able to work because of illnesses.  He has had prostate cancer surgery, a cancerous lump removed from his head and another from his temple.  He has sciatica, osteoporosis in his hips, he has five slipped discs in his lower back and he is deaf in one ear.  Sometimes, he has to walk with his crutches, but he does not let his ailments get to him.

We are at the point where our house has repair issues.  Fixing these things will make it safer and healthier for us to live.  The electrical needs fixing.  The kitchen cabinets are in such bad condition, they need replacing.  The floors are cracking and falling apart.  Our stove does not work properly.  We have no storage cabinets for our towels, blankets or supplies in general.  Our hallway is unsafe having a dresser, bins and other containers lined up against the wall.  This makes it especially dangerous for my mother.  She has diabetes, affecting her legs mainly.  She tends to stumble so she needs to use her walker more often, but the area is too crowded.  She has emphysema, and arthritis in her lower back and hands, but she is willing and kind.  She worries more about others than she does about herself.

I am her in home caregiver.  I only get hours for her personal needs.  The service I work for has a stipulation that the spouse is supposed to do everthing else that is needed.  I cannot see my poor father cooking, cleaning or hanging up laundry.  We are trying to do something about this situation. 

We have the material to install a handicapped shower and bathroom.  Both my mom and my sister need it urgently.  My mom has already had an accident.  There has not been much progress because of money.  We just need a little help.

I have a idea, if 20,000 people each donated $1, it would bring so much more hope and joy to our lives.  We would be able to take care of all our repairs, it would help with our credit card debts, which we had to use mainly for food.  This could buy my dad a hearing aid too!  Wouldn't this be wonderful.

My sister is permanently disabled also.  I am her in home caregiver.  She had a large tumor removed from her leg caused by her being hit by a car.  She was in a wheelchair for a while.  She now has obesity, sciatica, gallstones, and heart problems.  I have put her on a different eating plan and she has lost almost 80 pounds!  You see, she cannot have gallbladder surgery until she loses more weight.  She does not sulk over her illnesses.  She is a very gifted artist.  We plan on showing some of her work in the near future.

I have a son attending the University.  He has received two degrees in community college.  His grades are impeccable.  However, because of his heavy study and homework schedule, he cannot work.  He has received student loans to help pay tuition and books through college and the University, but they are not nearly enough for another year.  Unfortunately, his financial aid has run out.  We do what we can to help him.  He is a goodhearted, decent young man, he has never given us any problems.  He appreciates things and does not take things for granted.  He has been on the honor dean's list several times.  He's my only child and I believe he is going to be successful someday.  He deserves some help, so I am asking for him too.  We are all very proud of him.

My sister and I rescue stray and feral cats and take them to get spayed or neutered; then we release them where people in different neighborhoods who feed them, we feed a few ourselves.  We get a discount on the spaying and neutering, it costs us $30 for females and $25 for males, and this includes shots.  We need help with food costs also.  It is a small sacrifice but we have been managing, but it is not easy.  We cannot stand the thought of having them euthanized.  Of course we help other animals, dogs, raccoons and birds, too.  One time two children found two baby possums on top of a trashcan heap, they approached me about their find.  I took the babies, the possums of course to a place where they care for them and when they are ready, they release them to the wild.

I receive an income for my in home care services that is below poverty wages.  My parents are retired and disabled and receive SSI/SSA and so does my sister.  We are asking you wonderful people to bring some joy into your hearts and ours by giving to a worthy cause and making a difference.  A safer home will mean a world of difference to us.  An education is never wasted, and our furry friends depend on us.  Your generosity will give us more hope and we will move forward at a much quicker pace.  My family needs me at home.  I cannot go out and get a higher paying job.  All I want in my life is to see my family live in safety with dignity, and my son to make something of himself.  We will always take care of animals.  We receive 100% of all donations through PayPal.  You can be certain that your donations will be shared with others in need, for education and, of course, the animals.  We are giving people too.
